A Big Welcome to Cari Silverwood!!
Cari Silverwood is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling writer of kinky darkness or sometimes of dark kinkiness, depending on her moods and the amount of time she’s spent staring into the night. She has an ornery nature as well as a lethal curiosity that makes her want to upend plots and see what falls out when you shake them.
When others are writing bad men doing bad things, you may find her writing good men who accidentally on purpose fall into the abyss and come out with their morals twisted in knots.
The journey to this book, Cyberella:
I’ve always read across a wide spectrum of genres and science fiction is one genre I’ve read from way back. So it seemed natural to combine erotic with scifi. I have also read the John Norman, Gor series, and adored the theme in those: Earth woman abducted to become a slave girl on another planet.
The Preyfinders series is me smooshing together these two genres. I made a slave-girl dubious-content series which has, I hope, a fair degree of deeper scifi in it, without the story becoming hardcore scifi and impenetrable – something no erotic author would ever EVER want.
I also added a good amount of my favorite sort of sex scenes – kinky with a touch of dubious consent. Sex pollen some like to call this dubcon subgenre – where “something else” made her lust after the alien. My aliens are very human-like. No tentacles or weird appendages, apart from the demi-god, Dassenze, who has a double cock. Cyberella is not his book though – he was in the Preyfinders Trilogy.
Cyberella has dubious consent but it’s mostly consensual. It also has rope bondage, so although in some ways it’s kinkier than the Preyfinders Trilogy, it’s also less confronting.
If you like a little fairytale in your stories, you’ll find Cyberella bounces between a couple of those – Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty both get a look-in. Don’t expect butterflies and rainbows. This is quite a macabre story in a few places. Since I’ve been surprised at how some reviewers liked Mimi, the pet rock in Cyberella, as she is quite bloodthirsty (hard to explain this easily), perhaps my readers are more accustomed to gore than I thought.
So to sum up, Cyberella is kinky sex + fairytale + gory (sometimes) + scifi + romance + a pet rock called Mimi. Also consent gets a little bit dubious.
At the moment I’m writing the first book in a new dark and kinky series. I have two possible series titles – Wicked Men or Dark Hearts. This will be contemporary, the same as my Pierced Hearts series, only I’m aiming for some paranormal-ish elements in the plot.
Accepting herself when much of her is cybernetic is Ella’s never-ending struggle. When she’s captured by Torgeir, an alien, mercenary ex-lordship, she prays her struggle is over. He knows what she is and still wants her.
But there are cracks in the mirror…
Strange things are growing.
A lunatic wants to make her his princess, after he modifies her.
What happened to this girl who was, once upon a time, a perfect human being?
Can even her beloved Torgeir love a girl who is nothing like she should be?
The crunch of revelation is coming and this is one cyber-girl who doesn’t like being kept in the dark.
